Happy New Year to you all! I am a little late in getting this out to you as I’ve enjoyed a break from all matters work related for a sneaky week’s holiday with the family in the sunshine. I find the change of pace helps me to focus and relax (at the time) but now back and raring to go I crave the routine that regular exercise and fitness brings. That niggling little voice in the back of my mind is reminding me how many glasses of wine I’ve had and how many classes I’ve missed. I need that now but it was important at the time to allow myself to relax and unwind. Everything in moderation.
Balance is SO important in SO many ways. Whether it’s Exercise V Rest, Work V Life, Run V Wine or Fun V Chores, there is always a happy medium. We all need to find the right balance and allow ourselves the opportunities that arise from being at both end of the spectrum. I am not going to lie and try to say that I haven’t enjoyed a lazy week off!! The hardest part is finding that little bit of discipline required to get things back up and running again. Re-fire. Re-focus.
New Year can be a tough time for some people who know that reaching goals regarding lifestyle, weight loss, dress size and body shape can be tough to achieve. Self discipline doesn’t come as easily for everyone. The excuses have a mind of their own and sometimes you don’t even realise that you’re influencing them. Ultimately, changes will only happen if YOU make changes to your routine. Don’t be scared to STOP and take stock once in a while. Don’t cheat on yourself but allow for balance, it lets you live.
Rewrite the rule book.
Make a change.
Make time for yourself.
Reap the rewards.
Try something new.
Invest in yourself and your well being, let’s be honest, no-one else will!
What are you going to do this year?
